作文范文: Why have I chosen to attend college? Is the four-year campus life worthwhile? I have asked myself questions of this sort from time to time. It is almost impossible to sit in the classroom listening to lectures without thinking for a moment about stories of high school graduates having made a big fortune. It is almost impossible to stay up very late preparing for examinations without wondering for a moment whether I have made a wise choice to come to college. After much thought I have finally arrived at the conclusion that college education is not only worthwhile but essential as well in the last long run.
I attended college because it can satisfy y desire for learning. I remember as I proceeded through high school in to junior and senior years, I became genuinely interested in chemistry and physics. I felt that I wanted to further my studies in these areas, and that I would never be content to a high school graduate. It was then that I began to recognize in myself a strong longing for knowledge. And as my high school years drew to a close, the decision to attend college seemed a natural one.
I did not choose to attend college merely because college is a place which helps one to seek scientific truth. It but helps one to become a well-rounded person as well. With courses and lectures available in different fields, college life keeps me in close contact with a variety of new social and political ideas, thus helping to expand my mental horizon.
I do not want to conceal my motivation on the material side. In today's world, a college education has become all but essential in the job market. This trend will surely continue in the years to come and a bachelor's degree will become almost indispensable if one wishes to find a well-paid job. I might well say now that college education is a practical and necessary step in building up a secure future for myself.
